The Dave Pearce Orchestra was formed in 2004 consisting of the traditional big band line-up of 5 saxophones, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and rhythm section (double bass, drums and piano).
Using some of the finest musicians in the country - hand-picked by Dave Pearce himself - the orchestra's aim is to re-capture the music and sound of the by-gone era of the big bands, from Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, Ted Heath, and when using vocalists, the songs of Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra - to name just a few.
David is Musical Director of The Louth Wind Orchestra that he formed in September 2019. It is open to anyone who plays a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument and weekly rehearsals are held at Louth Methodist Church, 2 Nichol Hill, LN11 9NQ, from 6.30-8pm.
There is no audition required to join the orchestra, and the orchestra have various engagements throughout the year that they work towards. A variety of music is played from musicals, pop, swing, jazz and even rock!
